Harrogate Spa Water has spent a lot of time investing in a brand new up to date website which has all the features that our customers have requested as we have developed as a leading water brand.
We have taken on board comments which have been made in the past and hope that the new contemporary design is easy to use and work with. We feel the new site enhances our position as a high quality natural spring water in the water industry.
Back to topHarrogate Spa water will soon be available in striking new look glass bottles exclusive for foodservice and licensed trade customers.
Parent company Waterbrands is refreshing its glass range to give the award-winning bottled water a cleaner, more contemporary look befitting the brand’s premium image.
A neck label referencing the year the water was first bottled has been removed, leaving a single belly label to dominate the bottle in stunning silver on black (still) or black on silver (sparkling) livery. Two sizes of bottle are available in either variant - 330ml and 750ml.
“Because Harrogate Spa is only available in glass for the foodservice and licensed trade channels, we’ve gone to great lengths to ensure the bottles communicate a certain image – one that is in keeping with the upmarket hotels, bars and restaurants where they are frequently found,” said Paul Martin, managing director of Waterbrands.
“Removing the neck label immediately makes the bottles more refined, and draws the eye to the belly label, where the provenance of the water as ‘Britain’s original spa water’ hits home. It’s a subtle change, but one that we feel makes a major difference in a competitive market where presentation is key.
“The bottles really stand out in a back-bar chiller and more than hold their own on the dining table alongside bottles of wine. They also stand out in terms of being distinctly ‘British’, which is increasingly important in light of the ongoing debate about food miles and only sourcing products from within the UK.”
The 330ml bottles of Harrogate Spa water are available in cases of 24, the 750ml bottles are packed in cases of 12. Telephone 01423 730000 for all sales enquiries.
Back to topThe rain of last summer may have had a negative impact on the UK bottled water market – but whatever the weather brings this year, the outlook for one of the country’s fastest-growing bottled water companies remains bright.
Although sales are down across the rest of the sector, Waterbrands – the company behind the Harrogate Spa Water and Thirsty Planet ranges – has bucked the trend, with volume sales up an impressive 12 per cent year-on-year.
“While the bottled water industry in general was hit by the summer washout last year, we had strong sales throughout the summer months and beyond, and we’re set to repeat that success again this year,” says Paul Martin, managing director of Waterbrands. “As the weather heats up, bottled water is a refreshing, zero-calorie alternative to fizzy drinks in these health-conscious times.
“And despite recent negative publicity in the media about the environmental and ethical impact of bottled water - which has led to predictions of a downturn in 2008 - retailers can be assured that the steps Waterbrands has taken to address these concerns will help sales to remain buoyant throughout the summer.”
Waterbrands has responded to increased awareness of environmental issues by re-packaging its flagship Harrogate Spa Water in lighter PET bottles. Its 500ml bottles have been reduced from 23g to 17.5g, cutting the brand’s carbon footprint by reducing the materials used and slashing distribution costs.
“Customers nowadays are very much aware that the choices they make can have a huge impact on the world around them,” adds Paul. “We have responded to this by improving our social and environmental credentials, and we’ll continue to investigate ways of lessening our environmental impact.
